About an Export

During the export process, the project data is exported into a JSON data file and then compressed into a .zip archive. The archive file can be stored for backup purposes or imported into a project (described in Importing Project Data).

The export runs as a background process that does not interfere with scanning or analysis work.

Note • Currently, the Code Insight Web UI supports the export of data from only those projects created as “standard” (that is, with the Standard project-type attribute). To export data from projects created as “inventory only” (with the Inventory Only project-type attribute), you must use the Code Insight REST interface. You can view a project’s type on the Project Summary page. For more information about project types, see Creating a Project.
