Editing a Custom Detection Rule

Use the following procedure to edit a specific custom detection rule. The changed rule is applied to all future scans or rescans on projects in the Code Insight.

To edit an existing custom detection rule, do the following:

1.

Open the Custom Detection Rules tab, following the procedure in Viewing All Current Custom Detection Rules.

In the Actions column for the entry you want to update, click the (Edit) icon. The Edit Custom Rule dialog opens.

Edit fields as needed. See Edit Custom Rule Dialog for a description of each field.

Manage the codebase files for the rules:

To add a file, click the Add File button and provide the file’s name and MD5 value.

•

To remove a file from the rule, click the (Delete File) icon.

5.

Click Save to update the detection rule changes to the Code Insight data library. You will be asked for confirmation to proceed with the updates.
