Support for Cloud Licensing Service

FlexNet Operations On Premises now supports FlexNet Cloud Licensing Service (CLS), a separately purchased module that enables users to create FlexNet Embedded license server instances in the producer’s Cloud. A CLS instance can be created in two ways: through auto-provisioning when an entitlement is created for an account or through manual setup using the FlexNet Operations Devices functionality. CLS instances offer the same functionality as FlexNet Embedded local license servers for managing licenses, including support for the following:

FlexNet Embedded feature partitioning (see Support for FlexNet Embedded Feature Partitioning).
The Cloud Monetization API interface (a separately purchased module to provide access to FlexNet Embedded capabilities in use cases where an SDK is not the preferred implementation)

For more information about the CLS, see the following:

For instructions on configuring the CLS, refer to the FlexNet Operations On Premises Installation and Implementation Guide.
For instructions on creating CLS instances, see the sections “Getting Started with Cloud Licensing Service” and “Devices” in the FlexNet Operations 2020 R1.1 On Premises User Guide.
For details about license server management, feature partitioning, and the Cloud Monetization API interface, refer to the FlexNet Embedded user documentation.
