Employing a Predefined Substitution Variable

The following instructions describe how to use a substitution variable for a license model attribute that corresponds to a supported license string.

To employ a predefined substitution variable in the license model

1. On the Create a License Model page, locate the license model attribute for which you want to use a predefined substitution variable.
2. For the license model attribute, choose Specify Value Now.
3. In the field provided, enter the substitution variable you want to use. For example, {SoldTo.displayName}. (See Predefined Substitution Variables for License Strings for a listing of available substitution variables.)
4. Click Save.

Note:The license model attributes for license strings can also take custom attributes as substitution variables. See Custom Attributes in License Strings .
