Setting Up the Job

The Expiring Entitlements job drives the notification process for the renewal reminders about expiring entitlements. In this exercise, you activate and schedule the Expiring Entitlements job.

To set up the Expiring Entitlements job

1. In the Producer Portal, click Administer > Configure Alerts/Jobs. This link opens the Configure Alerts/Jobs page.
2. On the Configure Alerts/Jobs page, click the Configure button for the Expiring Entitlements job. This button opens the Configure Alert/Job Schedule for the Expiring Entitlements job.
3. Set Status to Active and keep the default schedule (30 days).
4. Click Save.

The Producer Portal saves your job configurations and returns to the Configure Alerts/Jobs page.

The Expiring Entitlements job is now active and set to run once every 30 days.

Using the default job schedule and the default system configuration settings for renewal settings, FlexNet Operations checks for expiring entitlements once every 30 days and sends renewal reminders to subscribed users in accounts with one or more entitlements that expire in the next 90 days (Expiring Window). And, when assembling the renewal reminder email, FlexNet Operations includes a list of all entitlements for that account that are due to expire within the next 200 days (Renewal Look Ahead).

With the renewal email templates active, the Expiring Entitlements job can send renewal reminders to end users and to send intent-to-renew email messages from the End-User Portal’s Expiring Entitlements page.
