What is a License Repair?
A repair operation is used to repair a license that does not work for a customer. The meaning of a license repair is different for trusted and certificate licenses:
• | For a certificate license, a repair is a customer-initiated change to a license to change a license parameter other than a host ID. A repair initiates a license return, then generates a modified license certificate. |
• | For a trusted license, a repair is necessary when a license becomes invalid because the machine hardware configuration has been changed enough that the anchor is broken. |
Most trusted repairs are done programmatically, but they can also be done through the FlexNet Operations Producer Portal or the End-User Portal.
The number of allowed license repairs per unit time per entitlement line item can be governed by a policy on the license model or entitlement item.
