Associating a Device with a Device User

When the Device User Option is enabled, the User field is visible on the device’s default view (or the View Served Device or View Server page) and a device can be associated with an end user or contact called the device user. Associating a device with a device user allows an End-User Portal administrator to communicate with someone regarding licenses on the device.

You can associate a device with a device user from the device’s default view (or the View Served Device or View Server page).

To associate a device with a device user:

When the Device user option is enabled (not set to Off), you can enter the device user in one of these two formats:

1. Device user option is set to On with no validation – free-form string
a. In the User field, type the device user information.
b. Click the Save icon next to the User field to save the change.
c. To remove an associated user, click the User field’s Remove (X) icon.
2. Device user option is set to On with validation – an existing user’s email address
a. In the User field, click the search icon to display a list of available users.
b. Select one user, then click Save to save the change.
c. To remove an associated user, click the User field’s Remove (X) icon.
