Manual Repair

Trusted repairs are normally done programmatically as transactions between a client or server activation utility and the FlexNet Operations server. The activation utility generates a request that is submitted programmatically and the FlexNet Operations server generates a response that is used to complete the repair.

However, a repair request can also be generated and written to a file by a FlexNet Licensing activation utility running on the machine on which the license will be repaired.

The file containing the request is sent to the producer and loaded into FlexNet Operations to generate a response.
The response is saved to a file; the file is sent to the customer and is used by the FlexNet Licensing activation utility to process the response and repair the license.

To generate a response to a repair request submitted in a file:

1. Click License Support > Manual Repair.
2. Browse to the XML file that contains the repair request.
3. Click the Submit button to generate and view the repair response.
4. Verify the Activation ID, Product, Version, Fulfillment ID, and Sold To.
5. Click the Save To File button to save this response to a file. The default file name is responseXML.xml.
6. Send the file to the customer with instructions for using the activation utility to process the response and repair the license.
