What is an Upgrade?

An upgrade occurs when a customer replaces an older version of a product with a newer version, such as moving from MyProgram Version 4.5 to MyProgram Version 5.0.

What is an Upsell?

An upsell occurs when a customer replaces a product with another product that provides a superset of the original product’s functionality, such as moving from the MyProgram Standard Edition to the MyProgram Professional Edition.

What is a Renew?

A renewal extends the expiration date of a product’s original entitlement to a date in the future. It is not necessary to define a relationship for a renew operation because the product involved does not change.
