Uploading a Capability Request
Capability requests can be manually uploaded on the End-User Portal. You can upload a capability request from the Offline Device Management page.
To upload a capability request:
1. | On the Offline Device Management page, for Upload type, select Generate license. |
2. | Click Browse and locate the capability request on your local system. (The controls vary depending on the browser you are using.) |
3. | Click Upload. |
The End-User Portal processes the capability request.
While processing the capability request, FlexNet Operations validates activation IDs in the request against the device’s account hierarchy. If the device does not yet exist in FlexNet Operations or if the device currently exists but has no owner account, the device may be created without an owner or it may be assigned an owner as a result of processing:
• | For a device that does not yet exist in FlexNet Operations, FlexNet Operations creates it without an owner account assigned. |
• | For an existing device that does not currently have an owner account, FlexNet Operations assigns the account based on the first activation ID in the request. |
After the capability request is processed, download the capability response and process it on your device.
