About Accounts
Each entitlement is tied to an account, or customer company. Each account can have one or more contact people.
Accounts and Sub-accounts
Accounts can have sub-accounts, which can reflect the hierarchical nature of some company structures. Accounts and sub-accounts are defined in a parent-child relationship.
An account hierarchy can have multiple levels to flexibly accommodate different organizational models. For example, a single account can have multiple sub-accounts, which would share a sibling relationship. Sub-accounts can themselves have sub-accounts. In addition, accounts can have multiple parents.
For example, you could define Acme Global as the main account, and set up Acme US and Acme EMEA as sub-accounts.
Note:You can the End-User Portal to manage your account and its sub-accounts.
Partner Accounts
Partner accounts identify accounts in your distribution chain.
By default, FlexNet Operations End-User Portal includes only one partner account. FlexNet Operations End-User Portal includes a distribution tier for the Producer, and one for Distributor.
Note:Partner users can create other partner accounts and customer accounts on the Related Accounts page.
Unique to partner accounts is their relationship to the parent, producer account. Information about the transactions in the partner accounts flows up through the distribution chain so that these transactions are visible to the producers on the Producer Portal.
Some FlexNet Operations End-User Portal features are only available to the producer account and partner accounts. For example, only partner accounts can move a device to other distribution tiers on the End-User Portal site.
