SOAP and REST Web Services Issues Resolved in 2021.12

The following issue related to FlexNet Operations Web Services was addressed in the 2021.12 release:

“generateCapabilityResponse” Method Now Properly Acknowledging Inactive or Obsolete Entitlement Line Items

In previous releases, the generateCapabilityResponse method (in the ManageDeviceService SOAP web service) would return a SUCCESS status in the capability response even though one or more of the requested line items were obsolete or inactive. While the obsolete or inactive line items were not mapped to the device as expected, the resulting SUCCESS status was misleading.

Now, the generated capability response shows a PARTIALFAILURE status when one or more of the requested line items are obsolete or inactive. The <reason> element in the response indicates which licenses could not have their copies increased (in this case, due to their obsolete or inactive status).
