In this exercise, you create a customer user named William Barry and link him to account BarryPhoto.

To create user William Barry and link him to account BarryPhoto

1. Click Accounts & Users > Create User. The Create A User page appears.
2. On the Create A User page, select FlexNet User, and click Next.
3. Under User Details, enter the FlexNet Operations user information:
a. End-User Portal Access?: Select Yes
Yes allows the user to log in to FlexNet Operations. Time Zone, Status, and Shared Login attributes are shown when this is selected.
No maintains the user as a contact only. Time Zone, Status, and Shared Login are hidden when this is selected.
b. User Name: Specify a login name for the user.
c. Time Zone: Select a time zone from the drop-down list
d. Status: Leave the status set to Active. The records of an inactive user remain on file, but the user no longer has access to FlexNet Operations.

Note:Multiple unsuccessful login attempts automatically set the user’s status to Inactive. The user can be reactivated by an administrator after confirming the user’s legitimacy.

e. Shared Login: Select No
Yes means this account is shared by a group of users.
No means this account has only one user.
4. Under Contact Details, enter the user’s contact information:
a. First Name: Type William
b. Last Name: Type Barry
c. Email Address: Type WBarry@barryphoto.com
5. Under Accounts, click Link Accounts. The Select Account window opens with the Customers tab selected. Search for and select the BarryPhoto and Portal User Role check boxes, then click OK to close the window. An email containing a system-generated password and login instructions is sent to the user’s email address, and this message appears: User William Barry successfully added.

Note:Users can be assigned to more than one account, provided those accounts are parallel to one another or are in a different vertical hierarchy. For example, user can not be assigned to both a parent and child account because they are vertical to one another in the hierarchy.
