Temporary (Emergency and Stop-Gap) Licenses
Temporary licenses are limited in duration for a specific purpose. A temporary license can be issued in the following circumstances:
| • | An emergency license allows a customer to temporarily move features from an old device to a new device. |
| • | A stop-gap license allows a customer to temporarily use an expiring license until another license can be issued. |
| • | A temporary license allows a customer to demonstrate a product for trial purposes, and expires after a short trial period. |
To issue a temporary license
| 1. | Create a limited-duration entitlement representing the upgraded product. |
| 2. | Click Devices > Search Devices. The Producer Portal opens the Search Devices page. |
| 3. | Specify search criteria to locate the device you want to change and click Search. |
| 4. | From the list of devices, click the ID for device to change. This link opens the View Device page. |
| 5. | Click Licenses > Map Entitlements. The Producer Portal opens the Map Entitlements page where you select the temporary entitlement line items for the device. |
| 6. | Under Entitlements Available, specify the amount to add in Qty to Add for the entitlements you want to map, and click Save. |
The Producer Portal maps the entitlement line items to the current device and shows its View Device page.
