Editing Custom Attributes

You can edit existing custom attributes from the Custom Attributes page.

Note:Custom host attributes and custom license attributes are managed separately. For details, see Managing Custom Host Attributes or Managing Custom License Attributes.

To edit a custom attribute

1. In the Producer Portal, click Administer > Custom Attributes. This link shows the Custom Attributes page.
2. On the Custom Attributes page, click the name of the attribute you want to change.
3. On the Create Custom Attribute page, specify custom attribute settings.

Some attribute settings cannot be edited. The ability to edit a setting depends, in part, on its status, whether or not it has been in use, and whether it is required or optional. See Custom Attribute Settings for more information about attribute properties.

4. Click Save.

The Producer Portal saves your changes to the attribute settings.

Adding or Deleting Custom Attribute Values

If the custom attribute that you are editing is of type Text, with a text type Single select or Multi-valued text, you can add or remove values.

To add or remove values from a custom attribute of type Text

1. Perform steps 1 through 3 as described in the previous procedure, To edit a custom attribute.
2. To add a value:
a. Click Add Value. This adds a new field to the list of valid values.
b. Type the desired value into the new field.
c. Click Save.
3. To delete a value:
a. To remove the last value in the Valid Values list, click Remove Value.
b. To remove any other value, click the field with the value that you want to remove and delete it so that the field is blank.
c. Click Save.
