Transferring Entitlement Line Items

If a company spins-off a division and sets up a separate company, it can transfer some of its license entitlement line items to the new company by using the Transfer feature. However, an entitlement can be transferred only if there are no active fulfillments against any of its line items.

Administrator privileges are required to transfer entitlement line items.
Transfer of entitlement line items can only be performed between accounts in the same account hierarchy.

To transfer entitlement line items:

1. On the List Entitlements page, select a trusted line item to activate and click Action > Transfer.
2. In Transfer Amount, enter the number of copies you wish to transfer.
3. In Target Account, specify the account to which you want to transfer the entitlement line item. Do one of the following:
Type the account name. After you have typed three or more characters, a list of account names that match that pattern is displayed, enabling you to select from these account names.
Click the search icon next to the Target Account field. The Select Account window opens. Search for and select the account that will receive the new entitlement line item, then click OK. The Select Account window closes.
4. Click Transfer. The line items are transferred to the account, and you are notified by email about the transferred line items.

Newly transferred line items are placed in an on-hold status. The FlexNet Operations administrator must approve these transfers in the Producer Portal.
