Defining a BuiltIn-Composite Hostid
The BuiltIn-Composite hostid type indicates the system’s composite host identifier, which includes all hardware and environment-specific attributes. Since environment details are also incorporated into the composite hostid, the same system may have different composite hostids based on its operating environment. For instance, a BuiltIn-Composite hostid retrieved from a physical machine differs from the one retrieved in a virtual machine, even if both environments share the same hardware configuration.
