InstallAnywhere 2020 SP1
You can use the Expand Archive (TAR) action to expand a TAR archive file (.tar, .gz, .Z) on the target system. This action has the advantage of preserving the permissions of all files that are part of the TAR archive.
The archive file can be installed as part of your installer, or it can be present on target systems.
Properties Tab
The Properties tab of the Expand Archive (TAR) action customizer includes the following properties:

Specify the TAR archive file that you want to expand. Available options are:

Destination |
In the Path list in this area, select the platform-specific directory or location. Note that the text field next to the Path list is read-only. If the destination location of the archive should be in a subfolder, use the Create Folder action to create the parent folder. Then move the archive action into the Create Folder action.
