Upgrading an InstallShield Concurrent Server Offline with a Borrowed License
When upgrading an InstallShield Concurrent Server offline with a borrowed license, you need to first return all of the borrowed licenses. You need to:

Return all borrowed licenses to the server side in advance of the upgrade. |

Execute the license return operation with the FlexNet Server License Return Wizard. |
When in an environment that is not connected to the Internet, perform the following steps:
To upgrade an InstallShield Concurrent Server offline with a borrowed license:

1.

Ensure all borrowed licenses have been returned to the License Server. |
|
2.
|
Run the FlexNet Server Activation Wizard and perform an offline activation. |
|
3.
|
Save the request file and exit the Activation Wizard. |
|
5.
|
Activate from the browser and save the response file. |
|
6.
|
Copy or move the saved response file to the machine where the License Server is installed and execute the Activation Wizard. |

7.
|
Stop mvsn (vendor daemon) from the License Server. |
|
8.
|
Restart the License Server from the Service Manager |
|
9.
|
If mvsn (vendor daemon) is not started, start it. |
