Updates Tab for a Release

Project: The Update tab is available in the Suite/Advanced UI projects.

Additional project-specific differences are noted where applicable.

On the Updates tab, you can configure update settings for a Suite/Advanced UI set up launcher.

The Updates tab settings are organized into the following main categories:

General

Use the General area on the Updates tab to configure settings for supporting the downloadable updates.

General Settings on the Updates Tab

Setting	Project Type	Description
Enable Updates	Suite/Advanced UI	Enable the downloadable update support for your Advanced UI or Suite/Advanced UI setup launcher.
Prompt User	Suite/Advanced UI	The end users receive an option to either download a newer version or skip and proceed with the current installation process.
Force Install	Suite/Advanced UI	The end users can forcibly download and install the new version of the Suite package (if available).
Prompt Message	Suite/Advanced UI	Enter the message you want to show the end users to download a newer version or skip and proceed with the current installation process.
Update URL	Suite/Advanced UI	If you want to make updates available for your Advanced UI or Suite/Advanced UI setup launcher for download; Specify the absolute path, including the file name. App Updates Check

Use the App Updates Check area on the Updates tab area to configure additional settings for periodically checking the application updates.

App Updates Check Settings on the Updates Tab

Setting	Setting	Description
Check for App Updates Periodically	Suite/Advanced UI	Specify whether you want to configure additional settings to check the updates periodically. Available options are: • If this setting is set to Yes, the Update Check Frequency setting is enabled. • If this setting is set to No, the Update Check Frequency setting is disabled. By default, this setting is set No.
Update Check Frequency	Suite/Advanced UI	Specify the periodic interval that determines how often you want the updates to be checked. This setting is enabled if the Check for App Updates Periodically setting is set to Yes. Available options are: • Daily—Select this option to check the updates every day. • Hourly—Select this option to check the updates on an hourly basis. • Weekly—Select this option to check the updates on a weekly basis. Note:By default, this setting is set to Daily.
Check Every	Suite/Advanced UI	Specify the hourly time period or the week number along with days of week on which you want the updates to be checked. This setting’s options vary, depending on the option that you selected in the Update Check Frequency setting: • If the Update Check Frequency setting is set to Hourly, you can select the exact hours from drop down list to specify the hourly time period. • If the Update Check Frequency setting is set to Weekly, you can click the ellipsis button (...) and then select the appropriate check box to specify the week number along with the day of the week. Note:This setting is disabled if the Update Check Frequency setting is set to Daily
