You can add the following types of items to the Publishing explorer in the Publishing area under the Advanced Settings node of the Components view and the Setup Design view:
Setting |
Description |
ComponentID |
The componentID, a GUID, is a category identifier that represents the category of components that are being grouped together as a qualified component. Each componentID must have at least one qualifier. Note • Do not confuse the componentID with the GUID that is entered in the Component Code setting for the component; they must be unique values. |
Qualifier |
The qualifier is a string that you can use to distinguish this language or version of the component from any other (for example, to specify a language). It must be unique for the component. |
The following settings are available when you select a qualifier in the Publishing area:
Setting |
Description |
Application Data |
Enter the application data that corresponds with its qualifier. The application data is a text string that may be displayed to end users. This setting is optional. When you type a value for this setting, you are creating a string entry and setting its initial value for all of the languages that are currently in the project. As an alternative to typing a new value, you can click the ellipsis button (...) in this setting to select an existing string. For more information, see Using String Entries in InstallShield. |
