InstallShield 2016
Project • This information applies to the following project types:
• | Advanced UI |
• | Suite/Advanced UI |
Edition • The Advanced UI project type is available in the Professional edition of InstallShield. The Suite/Advanced UI project type is available in the Premier edition of InstallShield. For information about the differences between these two project types, see Advanced UI Projects vs. Suite/Advanced UI Projects.
InstallShield enables you to apply control themes to buttons, check boxes, radio buttons, and command links. If you later want to change the appearance of the wizard interface elements that use a control theme, you can easily make changes to the control theme, rather than separately editing each element that uses the control theme.
You can apply a control theme to a few individual controls and leave the remaining ones alone, or you can specify a global theme for your project and override it for a few individual controls. Changing the theme at the global level does not change the theme of the controls that have a per-control theme specified.
Note that you can apply control themes to navigation buttons at the global project level, but not at the individual control level.
To apply a control theme to controls globally:
1. | In the View List under User Interface, click Wizard Interface. |
2. | In the Wizard Interface explorer, click Wizard Pages. InstallShield displays the global wizard interface settings in the right pane. |
3. | In the Default Control Theme setting, select the appropriate theme that you want to use by default for controls such as buttons (including navigation buttons), check boxes, radio buttons, and command links. |
InstallShield changes the theme of all of the controls that do not have a per-control theme selected.
Tip • If you want the installation to use user-chosen system colors for controls instead of the colors that are defined for a particular control theme, select the (No Theme) option in the Default Control Theme setting.
To apply a theme to a control, overriding the default theme selection:
1. | In the View List under User Interface, click Wizard Interface. |
2. | In the Wizard Interface explorer, expand the Wizard Pages node or the Secondary Windows node, and find the wizard page or window that contains the control (button, check box, radio button, or command link) to which you want to apply a theme. |
3. | Select the control to which you want to apply a theme. |
4. | In the right pane, find the Control Theme setting, and select the theme that you want to use for the selected control. |
InstallShield changes the theme of the selected control.
Tip • To avoid overriding the default control theme for a selected control, select the (No Theme) option in the Control Theme setting, or leave this setting blank.
