Importing SBOM parts from other sources is a common and easy way to add parts to a bucket. You can import parts from any of these SBOM data sources:

SPDX v2.2 or 2.3 data file (.spdx)
•
CycloneDX v1.4 data file (.json or .xml)
•
Revenera Code Insight project export data file (.json)
Important:The maximum data file size is 250MB.
Note:You can also use SBOM Insights REST API to import parts. See SBOM Insights API for more information about working with the APIs.
To import SBOM parts into a bucket:
1.
Click Import SBOM in the left navigation panel to open the Import SBOM page.
2.
From the Bucket dropdown list, select the bucket into which you want to import SBOM parts.

Select the SBOM data file whose contents you are importing. Use one of these methods:
•
Browse to the location of the existing SBOM data file, and drag and drop it into indicated box on the Import SBOM page.
•
Click within the indicated box to browse to and select the file you want.

Click Import to start the import process.
A message in the top right corner of the page confirms that the import process has started (or has been placed in the Jobs queue).
5.
(Optional) Click the Jobs link under the Import button to monitor the progress of the import on the Jobs page. For more information about the Jobs page, see Viewing Your Jobs.
6.
(Optional) Click the View SBOM under the Import button to see the imported parts.
