Manual Repair

Trusted repairs are normally done programmatically as transactions between a client or server activation utility and the FlexNet Operations server. The activation utility generates a request that is submitted programmatically and the FlexNet Operations server generates a response that is used to complete the repair.

However, a repair request can also be generated and written to a file by a FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility running on the machine on which the license will be repaired.

The file containing the request is sent to the publisher and loaded into FlexNet Operations to generate a response.
The response is saved to a file; the file is sent to the customer and is used by the FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility to process the response and repair the license.

To generate a response to a repair request submitted in a file

1. Instruct the customer to use the FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit activation utility that you provide to generate and save to a file a repair request. The activation utility requires the fulfillment ID of the license.
2. Click Licenses > Manual Repair.
3. Browse to the XML file that contains the repair request.
4. Click Submit to generate and view the repair response.
