Editing Devices

Users typically search for a device they want to edit and then click its device Name to open its default view for a device or server page. The Edit menu on the default view for a device or server page includes several commands for actions—like editing device attributes, assigning an account, or making a device obsolete—for an existing device. With the commands in the Edit menu, you can perform the following tasks.

Note:The following limitations exist for auto-provisioned license servers that have entitlements mapped for metered features:

License servers cannot be moved to another account.
You cannot remove licenses using Licenses > Remove Licenses.
License servers can be made obsolete, which will remove all licenses mapped to the server. However, this is not recommended, because future line items will not be mapped automatically to the auto-provisioned license server.
