Creating a Device

You can create a new standalone device, local license server, or cloud license server. After it is created, a server can submit its own capability requests to FlexNet Operations and serve its own licenses to served devices.

Note:You are permitted to create a server and a nodelocked device with the same Device ID and ID Type.

Tip:Producers who use FlexNet Cloud Licensing Service can support two Deployment options: one to create a server as Local (default) and another to create a server as Cloud.
