Creating a Server Host Type

You can create a server host type from the Server Host Types page.

To create a server host type

Click Administer > Server Host Types. The Server Host Types page is displayed.

Click Create Server Host Type. The Producer Portal opens the Create Server Host Type page.

For Server Host Type Name, type a unique identifier for the host type.

Optionally, type a description for the server host type in Description.

Optionally, for Name, type a human-readable name for the server host type.

For Default Host ID Type, select a host ID type. Choose from

For Identity, choose from a list of available publisher identities.

Optionally, select the Default check box. If you select the check box, the current host type becomes the default host type for all new license servers.

Optionally, add a pre-installed product to the server host type.

A pre-installed product defines a set of built-in features for license servers based on this server host type. (A server host type with no pre-installed product results in license servers with no built-in features. In this case, all features would be additional features.) To add a pre-installed product:

Click Add. The Add Pre-installed Product page opens in a pop-up window.

On the Add Pre-installed Product page, click By Product. The Select Product page opens in another pop-up window.

On the Select Product page, click the option for the pre-installed product and then click OK. The Select Product window closes and the product name and version of the selected product are shown on the Add Pre-installed Product page.

On the Add Pre-installed Product page, specify a license model, license model attributes (optional), and expiration terms.

Setting	Description
License Model	Choose a license model for the pre-installed product. License models available are determined by the license models that are linked to the selected pre-installed product.
License Model Attributes	Optionally, provide settings for license model attributes (such as Notice and Vendor String). Any values set here become the default values for devices based on this device model.
Expiration Terms	Express the Start Date and Expiration for the pre-installed product. Note:If the year that you want to set is not currently available from the calendar, select the year that is closest to the desired year. This automatically increases the list by 10 years from the year you selected.

Click Add. The Add Pre-installed Product window closes and you return to the Create Server Host Type page. Note that the Pre-installed Product settings show the product you selected as well as its expiration terms.

Click Create Host Type. The Producer Portal adds the server host type and opens its View Server Host Type page.
