License Server Usage: Concurrent

A concurrent licensing model limits the maximum number of clients using the software at the same time. Users get a defined number of licenses to be used at the same time and on any device. If all the licenses are in use, an employee must wait for a concurrent license to become available before being granted access.

The License Server Usage report for Concurrent licenses includes the following charts and tables.

Concurrent—Most Active Account Identifiers (Total Number of Events)

This chart shows the accounts with the highest number of transactions for concurrent licenses. A transaction, or licensing event, is any activity that involves the interaction between a license server and a client, such as requesting, granting, or denying a license.

The x-axis displays the number of events that were recorded for each account in the last 6 months. Drill down into an account to see transactions for a specific account.

Most Active Cloud Server Instances (Event Count) for Concurrent Licenses

This chart shows the Cloud Licensing Service (CLS) instances that handled the highest number of requests for features mapped to concurrent licenses.

Number of Unique Served Clients

This chart shows the number of clients that used certain features over a specified period (default: 6 months). It delivers the licensing data that helps product and sales managers develop optimal product pricing and packaging strategies.

Max Daily Usage by Activation

Shows usage data aggregated by activation ID by day. In this table, use the Max Usage Percentage by Activation by Day column to get an accurate view of the daily peak consumption for specific activation IDs.

Max Usage over Activation by Month

Shows usage data aggregated by activation ID by month.

All Events Listing for Concurrent Licenses

Shows usage data of concurrent licenses on your license servers. The table lists each occurrence where a served client has communicated with a CLS instance.

Note:Some of the terminology in this table might not be familiar for all users. The view is meant to support Dynamic Monetization, metered and concurrent licensing events and therefore uses more generic terms:

“ENTITLED_ARTICLES” refers to products.
“ITEM” refers to features.
“ITEM_VERSION” refers to the feature version.
