Configuring Field Mappings

Field mappings define how data from Salesforce corresponds to data in FlexNet Operations. Each mapping links a Salesforce field, fixed value, or empty value to the equivalent field in FlexNet Operations. You can edit these custom mappings on the Manage Integrations page.

To configure field mappings

1. Click Connector Studio > Manage Integrations.
2. Select the integration that you want to configure.
3. Click Configure Field Mappings.
4. Expand the relevant integration area.
5. Click Add mapping.
6. From the FlexNet Operations Field list, select the FlexNet Operations field that you want to populate.
7. From the Map From list, select the source or value that Connector Studio should use when the integration runs:
• Salesforce Field—Uses the value from a Salesforce field selected from the available field list.

This option is available only for active integrations.

• Fixed Value—Uses a constant value that you specify. This option is useful when the same value should always be assigned to a FlexNet Operations field, regardless of the Salesforce record being processed.
• Empty Value—Explicitly clears the destination field by assigning an empty value.
8. Depending on the selected mapping type:
• For Salesforce Field, select the Salesforce field to map to the selected FlexNet Operations field.
• For Fixed Value, enter the value that should always be assigned to the selected FlexNet Operations field.
• For Empty Value, no additional configuration is required.
9. Click the + sign to add another mapping.
10. To remove a mapping, click the Delete icon next to the mapping.
11. Repeat steps 4 through 9 for each field that you want to map.
12. Click Save Changes.

Important:If the integration is currently running, newly added or modified field mappings are ignored until the integration is manually restarted, by clicking Stop and Start for the active integration on the Manage Integrations page (see Starting and Stopping an Integration).

Result

The field mappings are saved and will be used the next time the integration runs.

You now have the following options:

• Click Finish to return to the Manage Integrations page.
• Click Start to start the selected integration. This option is available when the integration is inactive.
