Elastic Access License Model

Version:Dynamic Monetization and Elastic Access features are only available for producers who purchase the Dynamic Monetization module.

Elastic Access is a monetization service provided by Dynamic Monetization.

Elastic Access license models are used by producers who sell metered tokens to their customers, instead of entitlements. Metered tokens represent flexible entitlements to the producer’s technology offerings. Customers can access products, features, services, or other offerings and are charged tokens from the line item.

Producers who use Dynamic Monetization must create a license model for Elastic Access (using the license model type “Dynamic Monetization | Elastic Access”) to be able to create tokens. This license model must be used when creating line items for tokens, because only line items created with such a license model will be mapped to an Elastic Access instance.

The Elastic Access license model is a metered consumptive model: once the tokens in a line item are exhausted, new tokens must be sold to the end customer. Alternatively, an overdraft may be set on the line item. This can be either a specific overdraft limit, or an unlimited overdraft.

Important:Line items created with the license model type “Dynamic Monetization” may not be mapped to any other service, such as FlexNet Embedded license servers or devices, because they will be automatically mapped to Dynamic Monetization.

License models for line items containing tokens must also set the attribute elastic to true.

Note:For detailed information about Dynamic Monetization, see the Dynamic Monetization User Guide that is available on the Revenera Product Documentation site.
