Partners and Distribution Tiers

Partner accounts identify accounts in your distribution chain—those accounts that act as distributors of your products and entitlements. Partner accounts exist in distribution tiers between your producer account and your end customers. You can add multiple partner accounts on the Manage Accounts page. Unless additional tiers are added, these partner accounts all occupy the default distribution tier.

By default, FlexNet Operations provides a Distributor tier and an End Customer tier for entitlements. The distribution chain allows entitlements and devices to move from the producer account to a distributor (partner account) to an end user (customer account). However, you can customize the distribution chain and add multiple tiers. Changes to the tiers in the distribution chain require the intervention of Revenera support.

Unique to partner accounts is their relationship to the producer account. Information about the transactions in the partner accounts flows up through the distribution chain so that these transactions are visible on the Producer Portal.

Some FlexNet Operations features are only available to the producer account and partner accounts. For example, only partner and producer accounts (if the current owner is set to a partner account) can split entitlements.
