External SOAP Service Technology: Entitling the Customer to the Product

In this exercise, you create, configure, and deploy an entitlement for 3 copies of product PhotoPrint‑soap.

To create the product PhotoPrint‑soap entitlement

1. Click Entitlements > Create. The Entitle Customers to Licenses page appears.
2. Under Create An Entitlement, from the Entitlement ID list, select Specify and type ENTL-soap in the box that appears next to it. Note that the entitlement is created in a Draft state.
3. Under End Customer And Channel Partners, click Add. The End Customer And Channel Partners window opens.
4. On the Customers tab, search for and select BarryPhoto as the account to receive the entitlement, then click Save. The End Customer And Channel Partners window closes, and the Entitle Customers to Licenses page shows Barry Photography Studio as the end customer.

To configure the product PhotoPrint‑soap entitlement

1. On the Line Items tab near the bottom of the page, click New Line Item. The Configure Line Item wizard opens.
2. In wizard step 1, Select Product, search for and select product PhotoPrint‑soap, then click Next.
3. In wizard step 2, Select Part Number & License Model, leave the default values as they are. Click Next.
4. In wizard step 3, Configure Product, enter these line item attributes:
• Qty: Type 3 for the quantity of PhotoPrint‑soap copies in this line item
• Start Date: Select Use First Activation Date from the drop-down list
• Expiration: Select Permanent
• Keep the default values for all other attributes.

Click Next.

5. In wizard step 4, Custom Attributes, click Next.
6. In wizard step 5, Order Type, keep the default value as it is. Click Save to save the line item and close the Configure Line Item wizard.
7. On the Line Items tab, note that the line item for product PhotoPrint‑soap is PERMANENT, has a total quantity of 3, and is in the Draft state.

To deploy the product PhotoPrint‑soap entitlement

1. At the bottom of the Entitle Customers to Licenses page, click Save & Deploy. The page is refreshed, the Line Item State of PhotoPrint‑soap is now Deployed, and this message appears: Entitlement deployed successfully.
2. On the Entitle Customers to Licenses page, click Email to send entitlement notification email to Barry Photography Studio. Type your email address in the Ship To Email box so you receive the certificate.

Note:To include additional recipients, type their email addresses into the Ship To Email box separated by commas.

3. Click Send. The email is sent and this message appears: Email sent to the recipients <address list>.
