Offline Activation: Generating a License
Some devices may follow an offline activation model in which the device generates a binary license request file (for an additional license) that can be manually uploaded on the FlexNet Operations Producer Portal or the End-User Portal. FlexNet Operations processes the request file to generate a license appropriate for the request.
If the license request is made for an existing device, FlexNet Operations generates a regenerative license. If the request is made for a new device, FlexNet Operations enters the device into the system, adds the corresponding entitlement, and generates a license for it.
To upload a license request file for an existing device

Click Devices > Search Devices. The Producer Portal opens the Search Devices page. |

Specify search criteria to locate the device you want to change and click Search. |

3.

From the list of devices, click the ID of the device for which you want to upload a license request. This link opens the View Device page. |

4.
|
Click Browse and locate the license request file on your local system. (Button names vary depending on the web browser you are using.) |

5.
|
Click Upload Capability Request. |
The Producer Portal uploads the request file. FlexNet Operations generates a regenerative license.
To upload a license request file for an existing license server

Click Devices > Search License Servers. The Producer Portal opens the Search License Servers page. |

Specify search criteria to locate the server you want to change and click Search. |

From the list of devices, click the ID of the server for which you want to upload a license request. This link opens the View Server page. |
