Integrating FlexNet Operations with Order Management Systems Using Connector Studio
FlexNet Operations provides a centralized interface for configuring and managing integrations with order management systems. Available from the Connector Studio menu in the Producer Portal, this capability allows administrators to establish authenticated connections, configure data synchronization, manage field mappings, and control how integration processes are executed.
By synchronizing information between FlexNet Operations and order management systems, organizations can streamline business processes and reduce the effort required to manually transfer data between applications.
Connector Studio provides default field mappings to simplify initial setup. Organizations with specific business requirements can review and customize these mappings to control how data is exchanged between connected systems and FlexNet Operations. Connector Studio also supports both scheduled and real-time integration processing, allowing administrators to choose the synchronization method that best meets their operational requirements.
Note:Connector Studio currently supports Salesforce integrations. Support for additional integrations will be introduced in future releases.
Availability and Implementation
Connector Studio is an optional capability that is available only to customers who have purchased the Connector Studio offering.
Before Connector Studio can be used, Revenera works with each customer to configure the integration according to the customer's business processes and workflow requirements. This configuration includes defining how data is exchanged between FlexNet Operations and the order management system, as well as integration-specific behavior such as synchronization settings and execution schedules.
As part of the implementation process, Revenera creates and deploys a tenant-specific integration configuration for the customer's environment. This configuration determines how Connector Studio processes and synchronizes data between FlexNet Operations and the connected system.
After the implementation has been completed, administrators can use Connector Studio in the Producer Portal to configure connections, manage integrations, and monitor synchronization activities.
Use Connector Studio to:
| • | Configure and manage connections between FlexNet Operations and order management systems. |
| • | Authenticate and maintain integration endpoints. |
| • | Configure and customize field mappings between connected systems. |
| • | Start, stop, and monitor integration execution. |
| • | Enable scheduled or real-time data synchronization. |
Prerequisites
Before configuring integrations, ensure that:
| • | Your user account is assigned to a role that includes the Manage Connector Studio permission. |
| • | Appropriate credentials are available for authenticating connections to the order management system. |
Integration Setup Workflow
The typical workflow for setting up an integration in Connector Studio consists of the following steps:
| 1. | Create a FlexNet Operations connection to connect FlexNet Operations to Connector Studio (see Creating a FlexNet Operations Connection). |
| 2. | Create a Salesforce connection to connect Connector Studio to Salesforce (see Creating a Salesforce Connection). |
| 3. | Select an integration type (Scheduled or Real-Time) based on your synchronization requirements (see Integration Types). |
| 4. | Review and customize field mappings to define how data is exchanged between Salesforce and FlexNet Operations (see Configuring Field Mappings). |
| 5. | Start the integration to begin synchronizing data between the connected systems (see Starting and Stopping an Integration). |
